OIan Recipe - Easy and Quick Potato Oalan Recipe

Olan Recipe
Festivals always takes me back to my childhood days and brings a nostalgic mood.  All festival  begins with my mom being busy in the kitchen from the eve of the festival either it be onam, diwali, vishu etc.,. Usually during Onam and Vishu it is said that the sadhya/feast should be prepared before 12' O clock and the first sadhya will be served to Lord Krishna and then to the family members.

Olan Recipe
My  mom starts  the preparation early in the morning, with dad helping in cutting vegetables and preparing coconut milk, and me my sister wandering playfully with tummy full of sweets and savories.  During festive days she prepares this this simple olan recipe with potato and shallots stewed in coconut milk. I cannot say this as typical Kerala style olan but sure to taste good.

Allow it to stand for 10 to 15 mins before serving. Serve and enjoy the feast.

Note:

  • This curry tends to thick as potatoes are added. It will be a semi thick consistency.
  • After adding first coconut milk no need to stir for a long time.
