Mango Burfi
Mango burfi / Mango kalakhand is north Indian delicacy that tastes heavenly. Recently i had a chance to taste this yummy sweet from nearby hypermarket where they had mango mania along with lot other mango recipes. Since it's been long that i have tried any Indian sweets at home  i thought to try this yellow sweet which was something different from other mango recipes.

Holi is festival of colors and is most vibrant of all as it is filled with colors and joy.
Last week with all that cold and the mess i made with my laptop, i couldn't possibly plan for any other recipe for this holi. With holi round the corner on Monday i just made this simple coconut ladoo which can be made for any festive occasions. This is made with very few ingredients and requires less time.

Corn flakes Mixture - Spicy Chivda

Spicy Corn flakes Mixture
This is yet another easy snack which i make for weekends.  I have tasted the sweet version of cornflakes mixture from Sri Krishna Sweets at my hometown and liked very much. The one i have tried here is spicy version. This cornflakes mixture is so easy to make compared to our south Indian mixture.

Roasted Makhana - Spicy Roasted Foxnuts.

Roasted makhana
I have already mentioned about the health benefits of makhana in my makhana kheer post. This is another recipe which can be a much healthier choice when compared to popcorn's. I like to munch it in the mid-day breaks. A simple and guilt-free snack to have at any time made from puffed lotus seeds. In India phool makhana is available in big supermarkets or any 'dry fruits and nuts' store.

Makhana (phool makhana) Kheer Recipe / Puffed Lotus seed Kheer

Makhana kheer / Puffed Lotus seeds kheer recipe

Few weeks back,  when i visited the regular hypermarket, i happened to notice these packets of makhana otherwise puffed lotus seeds.  Frankly saying i dint know what it was.  Initially i thought it might be dried /puffed mushrooms looking at it's shape ..(he.he.).  Anyway i took a packet of it and back at home, i did a few research to find what it was and what can be made of it.  I thought it would be nice to share the information collected.
